Para o neurologista e psicoterapeuta cognitivo Mário Negrão, é possível notar uma melhora significativa no aparelho digestivo, nas alergias e na resistência à bactérias e infecções, mas o mais importante é a sensação de bem-estar. “Quando você coloca um indivíduo em uma cidade sem muita natureza, você está colocando-o em um ecossistema hostil, onde tudo que o rodeia é artificial. Na Austrália, um estudo produzido na Universidade Deakin mostra que a natureza oferece às pessoas momentos de liberdade e relaxamento, impactando positivamente o estado mental dos indivíduos e reduzindo sintomas de ansiedade e depressão.
Para a doutora em Ciências Florestais e membro da Rede de Especialistas em Conservação da Natureza, Teresa Magro, a sensação de bem-estar está relacionada também ao que fazemos no ambiente natural. “Só o fato de olhar uma paisagem, fazer um passeio em um parque ou em uma área com menos barulho, já nos dá uma sensação de relaxamento”, afirma.
