Festival Bahia Plus debate o empoderamento do corpo gordo
Promovido para debater as histórias de pessoas gordas e a aceitação destes corpos na sociedade, o Festival Bahia Plus, apoiado pela Secretaria Municipal de Políticas para as Mulheres, Infância e Juventude (SPMJ), é o primeiro do gênero na capital baiana.

A programação, que acontece até o próximo sábado (28), sempre das 9h às 19h, contempla a realização de desfiles, oficinas, workshops e bate-papos. Além disso, uma área gastronômica e a apresentação de atrações musicais integram o evento. As atividades são no Porto Salvador Eventos, na Avenida da França, no Comércio.
Além de ser um espaço de divulgação e debates, o festival também é uma oportunidade para a concretização de negócios. No hall do terminal marítimo fica a exposição e a venda de produtos voltados para o segmento plus size.
A empresária Cristiane Costa vende lingeries. Para ela, o mercado tem reconhecido que as pessoas gordas, especialmente as mulheres, estão se aceitado mais, por isso ele tem crescido. “Não há mais aquela coisa de que ela não pode, da mulher se limitar”, disse.
Espaço de conversa
Dentre os bate-papos que devem acontecer até o sábado, estão temáticas como a inserção de políticas públicas para mulheres; a prevenção do suicídio entre a população LGBTQ+; a relação entre gordofobia, autoestima e suas intersecções jurídicas; e assuntos relacionados ao feminismo interseccional.
A secretária da SPMJ, Rogéria Santos, participou de um dos debates. O encontro, que teve como tema “Violência contra a mulher e as inovações da Lei Maria da Penha”, pautou o avanço de políticas de combate e prevenção da violência contra o público feminino, em especial no aspecto doméstico.
“Participar de um espaço como este, de um evento como este, que tem uma diversidade muito grande de pessoas de e de mulheres, é de grande valia para nós. Isso porque um dos maiores objetivos da secretaria é formar mulheres que sejam multiplicadoras do enfrentamento contra a violência”, salientou Rogéria Santos.
