Se você acompanhou e se sensibilizou com a situação no município de Pedro Alexandre, no nordeste da Bahia, após rompimento da barragem de Quati, poderá ajudar a equipe de resgate do Conselho Regional de Medicina Veterinária do Estado da Bahia (CRMV-BA).
São mais de 300 animais, entre cães, gatos, aves e roedores, atingidos pelo acidente. Com base na cidade de Coronel João Sá, a equipe é comandada pela médica-veterinária Ilka Gonçalves, presidente a Comissão de Bem-estar Animal do Conselho, e conta com o reforço da médica-veterinária Carla Sassi do CRMV-MG, que atuou na coordenação geral de desastres nas tragédias de Brumadinho e Mariana, em Minas Gerais.
“A situação na região é muito complicada e não tivemos como montar um abrigo especifico para os acolhimentos. Todos os animais atendidos passaram por avaliações clínicas e foram tratados com vermífugos e antiparasitários, cadastrados para posterior castração e vacinação anti-rábica. A situação mais crítica é a de 80 suínos que foram encontrados em uma pocilga, com pragas que há muito tempo não temos notícias e que são extremamente perigosas à saúde do animal e também da população”, explica Ilka.
A equipe será mantida na cidade por pelo menos mais três semanas prestando assistência à população e aos animais atingidos. Para auxiliar o trabalho da equipe, é realizada uma campanha de arrecadação de alimentos e remédios. As doações podem ser feitas em Salvador, na Clínica Kennel e Mr. Pet, na Pituba e SuperVet em Stella Mares. As demandas mais urgentes, segundo os voluntários, são de vermífugos, antipulgas e ração.
