Através de um Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC), saiu um projeto que pode melhorar a acessibilidade de pessoas com deficiência visual. Esse mérito vai para o estudante Luan de Oliveira por ter criado uma pulseira que identifica obstáculos em ruas e calçadas.
Luan é aluno do curso técnico de Eletroeletrônica na Escola Técnica Estadual (Etec) Prof. Armando Bayeux da Silva, localizada em Rio Claro, na Região de Campinas – SP.
Usando a pulseira, pessoas com deficiência visual poderão ter mais autonomia na mobilidade urbana. Colocado no pulso oposto ao que comanda a bengala, a peça ajuda a alertar homens e mulheres cegos quanto à presença de objetos acima da linha da cintura, como placas, telefones públicos e portões automáticos em movimento.
“A ideia é que a pessoa tenha mais confiança para andar sozinha na rua”, explica Luan. “Obstáculos como postes, canteiros e degraus são facilmente percebidos com o uso da bengala. O objetivo é evitar acidentes com aqueles objetos que estão no caminho mas não têm contato com o chão, como uma janela aberta para a calçada, por exemplo”.
Para entender melhor a funcionalidade, a pulseira executa uma função de sensor ultrassônico que se comunica com um microcontrolador semelhante a um chip. Detectado um obstáculo à frente, a pulseira começa a vibrar mais intensamente na medida em que a pessoa se aproximar do objeto.
Luan contou com consultoria de algumas pessoas com deficiência visual, entre elas o radialista e assessor dos Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência do município, Paulo Meyer. “Sou destro e testei a pulseira no braço esquerdo. Senti muita segurança ao utilizar a peça”, avalia.
Depois de formado, o estudante pretende encontrar parcerias para aprimorar e comercializar a tecnologia assistiva. “Quero melhorar o design e, principalmente, estudar a possibilidade de implantar comunicação entre o dispositivo e o celular”, projeta Luan.
“A proposta tem um mercado promissor. Desenvolvendo mais esse protótipo, com a inclusão de novas tecnologias, podemos ajudar muitas pessoas com limitações e deficiências visuais”, diz o orientador do projeto, professor Eduardo Lima.
