A Semana do Clima de Salvador (Climate Week), conferência internacional que antecipará a COP25 (Conferência sobre Mudança Climática), da ONU (Organização das Nações Unidas), reunirá representantes da América Latina e Caribe no Brasil esta semana.
Mesmo com adversidades por parte da governo federal, o encontro que acontece no Salvador Hall, segue até o dia 23 de agosto.
Na quinta-feira, 22, às 12h30, O Imaflora (Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola) e Idesam (Instituto de Conservação e Desenvolvimento Sustentável da Amazônia) lançarão, durante a sessão “Estruturando uma agenda positiva para a floresta e a agricultura: o papel do setor privado”, o Programa I+, que reunirá uma série de serviços nas áreas de clima, monitoramento socioeconômico de cadeias de valor e desenvolvimento territorial, gerando conhecimento, informação de alta qualidade e proporcionando a medição de impactos para investidores, empresas, desenvolvedores e gestores de projetos públicos e privados.
A sessão contará com a presença de Marina Piatto, gerente de clima e cadeias agropecuárias do Imaflora, Talia Bonfante, coordenadora de novos negócios do Idesam, Keyvan Macedo, gerente de sustentabilidade da Natura, e Débora Ferreira, diretora jurídica da Radar. A mesa ainda contará com mediação do coordenador de clima e cadeias agropecuárias do Imaflora, Ciniro Costa Junior.
O evento abordará novos métodos para medir os impactos positivos dos investimentos e modelos de negócios relacionados ao uso da terra no Brasil, além de apresentar inovações nas cadeias de valor agrícolas e florestais lideradas por empresas e comunidades locais.
Atualmente, o Imaflora trabalha diretamente com 1.258 empresas e produtores do setor florestal, agropecuário e de carbono. Seus projetos de carbono validados e verificados no Brasil abrangem 757,7 mil hectares e somam 17 milhões de toneladas de CO2 de gases do efeito estufa evitadas ou removidas nos últimos 10 anos.
