SIMAS é um híbrido de som nacional, banda e trio elétrico que funde rock, reggae, dub, raggae, samba-reggae e música baiana. O cantor e compositor nasceu no bairro da Liberdade em Salvador, onde a negritude é a maior referência e a manifestação artística é a principal forma de expressão. Vai no Tempo trata-se de uma reflexão acerca da passagem inevitável do tempo e da condição momentânea da vida. Apesar do título, a mensagem da música é a de que sempre podemos mudar nossos modos de viver.
A canção Vai no Tempo já está disponível nas plataformas digitais.
O cantor, compositor e jornalista, Tiago Simas traz o Projeto SIMAS. Com uma carreira sólida de mais de 10 anos como um dos vocalistas do consagrado grupo de música baiana gospel, Banda DOPA, Simas dá início à um projeto paralelo que envolve diversas canções autorais e fusão rítmica do axé e pagode baiano com a música eletrônica, rock, hip hop, trap, reggae entre outros estilos.
O projeto surgiu no período da pandemia mundial em março de 2020, no qual o artista encontrava-se confinado na casa da sua família em Salvador/BA e abastecia-se de leituras, internet e músicas. Mediante a tantas informações, decidiu letras que traduzem seus pensamentos sobre o tempo, sociedade, amor e vida.
“Minha música é diferente, sim, mas no sentido de ser inusual. Tenho essa característica de ser um artista cujo trabalho é extremamente pessoal. Eu canto, toco, faço letras, arranjos e harmonias num estilo muito meu. E curto isso, porque faço como quero, sei e gosto. Trago nas minhas músicas coisas que vi, ouvi e vivi.”, explica.
O artista estabeleceu contato com seu amigo, produtor musical e também baiano Jean Michell (Banda Preto no Branco), que prontamente lhe atendeu e assim iniciaram um estudo aprofundado sobre tendências musicais da atualidade.
O resultado dessa pesquisa é uma música baiana que reúne diversos elementos de vários estilos e vertentes em uma só sonoridade. “Com a idealização desse projeto paralelo eu vim entender ainda mais a minha missão como ser humano, que é impactar pessoas com música verdadeiras tendo a certeza que elas independente do tempo elas nunca serão passageiras.”, afirma.
