Um navio com 43 pessoas a bordo, transportando mais de 5.800 cabeças de gado, afundou-se ontem na costa do Japão. A Guarda Costeira japonesa que deu conta do incidente, revelando que apenas uma pessoa foi resgatada com vida até o momento.
De acordo com as primeiras informações, quando a embarcação Gulf Livestock 1 estava a cerca de 200 km da ilha japonesa de Amami Oshima, os tripulantes emitiram um pedido de ajuda devido à aproximação da passagem do tufão Maysak pela região.
O Gulf Livestock 1 tinha 134 metros de comprimento, deixou o porto de Napier, na Nova Zelândia, no fim de agosto e navegava com destino a Tangshan, na China. A viagem deveria durar 17 dias.
